Project Overview:

A customer whom CatchMark provides tech support for took a suggestion from us to virtualize their server environment. They had ~50 servers that were running on hardware that was end of life, taking up office space, and making it difficult for remote work.

The project would include a review of each server and its function. Those that still had a business need were migrated to Microsoft Azure.

The project took six months from planning to completion. This duration was at the request of the customer to limit the impact to other business objectives and initiatives they were working on.

The work needed to be done in several blocks, mostly during off hours to not impact the business. The project had some additional challenges due to its cybersecurity requirements.

 
Results

CatchMark successfully executed the virtualization of the servers. The project was completed under budget, resulting in savings for the customer. The goals of the project were all met and led to monthly savings for the customer that they are still seeing today.
