Project Overview:
A dairy farm in NW Ohio approached CatchMark for assistance in upgrading their internet service provider (ISP). Located in a rural area, the farm’s cellular connection was no longer adequate for its operational needs. The customer sought a faster and more reliable ISP to improve business efficiency.
Project Duration
This was a single-day project.
Technology Stack
-
Starlink standard panel – Provided satellite internet service to enhance the farm’s connectivity in a rural area.
-
Ubiquiti Dream Machine Pro – Implemented for network management, ensuring efficient data routing and control
Project Challenges
The primary challenge was finding an ISP capable of providing reliable internet in a remote, rural location. Starlink emerged as the only viable solution due to its satellite-based technology, which performs well in hard-to-reach areas where traditional ISPs are unavailable.
Results
CatchMark successfully installed the necessary hardware and transitioned the customer to Starlink. The project was completed on time and within budget. Following the installation, the farm experienced a significant increase in network speeds, which resolved the connectivity issues and improved business operations.
